Est. c. 1812A gamekeeper’s cottage
Built around 1812 as a gamekeeper’s cottage on the Rothiemurchus Estate, The Polchar has welcomed generations of guests to this quiet corner of the Cairngorms. Behind its stone walls and slate roof you’ll find five characterful bedrooms, wood-burning fires, panelled rooms and a farmhouse kitchen built for long, lingering meals.
Set on the road to Loch an Eilein and surrounded by ancient pine forest, it’s a place to slow down: soak in the hot tub under big Highland skies, gather the whole family by the fire, and step straight out into some of the most beautiful landscape in Scotland.
